Focus mode

Music that keeps you in the work, not in the playlist.

Steady tempo, no vocals, slowly evolving textures. Press play once and the session runs for as long as you do: 25 minutes, 50 minutes or the whole afternoon.

What makes it different

Built for hours of concentration, not for three-minute songs.

Focus mode follows four production rules. Together they keep the music in the background where it belongs.

No vocals, no hooks

Nothing to sing along to, nothing to wait for. Words in music compete with the words in your head.

Timer-based sessions

Set 25, 50 or 90 minutes. The music fades out gently and tells you the block is over.

Slow, seamless changes

Textures shift over minutes, not seconds. Enough to avoid monotony, too little to notice.

Energy to match the task

Calm for reading and writing, driving for spreadsheets and code. You choose the level, the mode does the rest.

A typical session

From "I should start" to started, in under ten seconds.

Focus mode is designed to remove every decision between you and the first minute of work.

01

Open Focus

One tap on the mode. No browsing, no recommendations, no "recently played".

02

Pick a length and energy

A 50-minute block at medium energy is the default. Change it or leave it.

03

Work until the fade

The music stays constant, then fades out when the timer ends. That is your cue for a break.

Questions

Focus mode, explained

What people ask before their first session.

Many people concentrate more easily with steady, wordless background sound that masks the room and gives the mind a stable frame. Research on background music and attention points to the same production rules we use: no lyrics, steady tempo, low variation. How much it helps differs from person to person, which is why the first weeks of early access are free.

For Focus, yes if you can. Headphones keep the room out, which is half of the effect. A speaker in a quiet room works too.

Start with 50 minutes and a 10-minute break. If that feels long, use 25. Longer sessions of two hours or more are there for the days when you are in flow and do not want anything to change.

No. Focus is a library of long-form sessions in a handful of styles. You will recognise the character, not the individual track, which is exactly the point.

Yes. Reading, memorising and writing are the most common uses. Students, trainees and teachers get sotuno at half price.
